FEATI News

They give FEATI University a good name: the men and women of Geodetic Engineering, top-notch board passers and professionals with a Bro. Mike thrown in the mix

FEATI University Geodetic Engineering alumni are scattered around the world. They may no longer be physically present in the historic walls of their alma mater. They have seen their University up close and personal, through it’s up and downs but through it all, they have not forgotten what it’s like to receive a FEATI education and most importantly, they made sure that after graduation, success would not be a matter of chance but a sure path to pursue. Thus, since decades past up to present time, they have distinguished themselves in various ways after getting off the graduation stage.

Mike Alvin G. Tatoy is the university’s Geodetic Engineering Magna Cum Laude for 2012. Tatoy placed first in the 2012 Geodetic Engineering Board Exams held during the third quarter of 2012. Likewise victorious in their attempt to pass that year’s board exams were 16 FEATIalumni Paul Robert D. Benedicto, Airon D. Braceros, Manuel B. De Las Alas, Mark Rainer Y. Lozares, Patrick A. Macazo, Zephyr S. Mamuyac, Von B. Manalo, Joseph W. Mateo, Katrina J. Mendeja, Michael E. Mercado, Adonis Wilbur M. Palencia, Armando N. Prias Jr., Aira Rizabeth B. Regondula, Joevannie M. Saguid, Robert A. Yap, and Gilbert S. Zabaldica. There were 351 examinees in total but only 123 passed with FEATI University posting an overall performance of 47.22% vis-à-vis the national passing average of 35.04%.

In 2011, eleven FEATI alumni, three of whom were women, became newly-minted Geodetic Engineers earning the right to have the prefix before their proper name:  Engr. James Wilbert B. Beltran, Engr. Eugene Benedict C. Bernas, Engr. Mario T. Cabrera Jr., Engr. April Amor A. Cubio, Engr. Jose Darwin M. Daduros,  Engr. Ryan Amiel P. Fuentes, Engr. Sorvigenaleon R. Ildefonso, Engr. George Michael A. Morales, Engr. Jackielou Agnes D. Punzalan, Engr. Millie Shane R. Reyes, and Engr. Allan Richard V. Sobreviñas. That same year, the passing rate for FEATI University's first-time takers was 44.44%, higher than the 34.4% National Passing Rate announced by the Board of Geodetic Engineering.

In 2010, FEATI University Geodetic Engineering graduate, Mark Wesley Tablante Dalida, placed 4th while 15 other FEATI Engineering graduates passed the Geodetic Engineering Licensure Examinations as follows Beaverlex Nones Algaba, Henry Pascual Apanay, Claudine Charish Evangelista Aquino, Jean Vashner Lacson Bayot, Carren Macapagal Bulaon, Aldrin Cedamon Cabasares, Francis John Lupo Francisco, Jonathan Ramos Galang, Jester Talag Jamilla, Kenneth Mark Sampang Lasala, Bernard Paul Dimayuga Maramot, Melchor Rey Malagday Nery, Ronald Bernal Reyes, Ronilo Relado Tagyab, and Marco Gerard Emboltura Viguilla.

Engr. Noel M. Baduria finished Cum Laude of his BS Geodetic Engineering class in 2004. It was not surprising at all that he entered the Top 10 of the 2004 GE Board Examinations.

Their performance is proof that the G.E. tradition of excellence is alive and well. The public should now become aware that FEATI University is the second biggest producer of G.E. top notchers and board passers in the country year-on-year. FEATI University has produced 20 first placers in the last 25 years.

Professionally, Geodetic Engineering alumni are often regarded as prize catches. Borland Development Corporation in Novaliches, Quezon City has nothing but good words for Allan Richard V. Sobrepenas, Joevannie M. Saguid, Mario T. Cabrera, Jr., Peter M. Dascil, Armando N. Prias, Jr., and Aries D. Salenga. Messrs. Sobrepenas, Cabrera, Salenga, and Prias were promoted from Field Surveyors to Senior Surveyors.  Messrs. Saguid and Dascil are currently supervising one of their sites as Site Engineers. Many of FEATI alumni hired at Borland were offered lucrative jobs abroad.

On the more prominent side of GE alumni making a name is Engr. Mariano Z. Velarde aka Bro, Mike, the founder and Spiritual Leader of El Shaddai Charismatic Group. Bro. Mike completed his course and graduated with honors in 1962.

It is the University’s hope that they will inspire the young generation to not only be better but be the best that they can become. (AMD)
